How to order

Lucy Shaw Cakes offers a fully bespoke service, and we advise you to take full advantage of the scope that this offers by visiting us to discuss in detail your wishes. This is particularly important for brides, who may like to bring a sample of fabric which can be matched on the cake. Depending on the amount of work involved a cake may take several weeks to complete, and it is advisable to come to us well in advance. If the situation is an emergency one, however, such as a forgotten birthday, we’ll do our best to rescue you!

This year we are exhibiting at wedding fairs at Wyck Hill House, Stow-on-the-Wold (on 22nd October) and at Beaumont House, Old Windsor (on 29th October). Next year we will be exhibiting at Westwood Country House Hotel, Boars Hill (4th February) and at Lains Barn, Ardington (25th March) (see Link to Guides for Brides); do come and see us there.

Planning your cake
Tiered or stacked? Plain or elaborately decorated? You are sure to have ideas of your own – perhaps more than you can cope with! Bear in mind
when you are planning your cake that you need not be restricted by the
number of partakers; if your heart’s desire is a ten tier cake but you are
expecting only fifty guests we can use dummies in the place of some of the
cakes. You may need to cater for different tastes, or for food intolerances, in which case a tiered cake made up of different cake bases may suit you best. If you are adventurous, or you need to please the differing tastes of your family and friends, you could experiment with a different style on each different tier; perhaps a scene modelled from a fairy story on the top tier, with more traditional work on the lower ones such as sugar flowers and ribbons. The choice is entirely yours, and we will do all we can to fulfil your most extravagant whims!
